Tommy's Homepage Redesign
Front-end development.

History

Tommy's are a client of Fat Beehive. Tommy's are the UK's leading baby charity and exist to save babies' lives. They fund pioneering medical research into the causes and prevention of miscarriage, premature birth and stillbirth.

My Brief

My brief from Fat Beehive was to build and design the new Tommy's homepage based on Tommy's new branding and the agencies concept and UX research.

What I did

Fat Beehive was tasked with rebuilding Tommy's homepage and restyling internal pages. This wasn't to be a 'rebuild' so we had to implement the new templates to existing infrastructure already in place. I worked with the agency and put together the new front-end code (HTML and CSS) for the new design which was later implemented into the Drupal CMS.

Throughout this project I was tasked with making creative decisions to implement Tommy's new branding element. The complex curve patterns caused no end of headaches when dealing with responsive layouts - especially with smaller mobile devices. I broke these up into several layers and positioned them as separate background images along the site's breakpoints.

The resulting homepage is soft and approachable for the users. It offers parents support through easily accessible information and real life stories offering comfort and peace of mind.

I'm proud that the work can help make a difference to it's users
