Kitchenology Website Design

Based in Bury St Edmunds, Kitchenology provide high-end interior design and fitting solutions for kitchen spaces.

Whilst working as a freelance website designer for Fellowship we embarked on a new project to rebrand and position Kitchenology as leaders in exceptional kitchen design.

My brief was to work alongside Fellowship’s branding designer to re-design the website for Kitchenology. We needed to ensure our Information Architecture was streamlined for an attractive User Experience (UX) which then coincided with a User Interface (UI) that complimented the studios new branding and the work Kitchenology produced. I also worked with the developers to code the website using a bespoke WordPress theme.

Exceptional Website Design for exceptional kitchens

Kitchenology’s new tagline “Exceptional Design. Always.” had to be backed up with a website that held to these values. The interior designers at Kitchenology transform tired kitchens into exceptional spaces – my job was to do the same for their website. I had to ensure this website had as much ‘craft’ as their clients’ kitchens and the site to represent the brand effectively so it attracted the right audience and with it qualified sales leads.

Breaking the grid

The client’s kitchens inspired me to create a website with unusual grid patterns and layouts. The resulting website is full of unusual grid layouts that break the usual restraints of a 12 column grid which is usually used in responsive website design. Clean lines, flawless typography and subtle colour tones allowed the clients photography to sing and be centre stage.

The Results

We wanted to reposition Kitchenology to the more premium, luxury market and the initial brand and website wasn’t attracting the right client. The new website and branding really helped close the gap between the initial brand and Kitchenology’s work. This attracted the desired target market and immediately contributed in an uptake in sales enquiries.

I am really proud of how this website turned out and feel the website is certainly a case study for why clients should invest in high-end photography when selling their own work – especially in the luxury market.

This website got so much attention the German kitchen manufacturer, Alno reached out to Fellowship to rebuild their UK sales website which I worked on with Fellowship and other projects.
